Avatar 2.0

Now when Chiharu or whomever it is opens this is gunna think, "God, not another Avatar suggestion". Well think again Moderators, cause this idea is new and very unrefined.

When i move around in Soul Society or Kyoto, i stare at a lil blue dot the entire time. It gets kinda boring. So why not either a) let us change the color to [/b][b]ANYTHING, if we have an aura (i.e. Black, Red, Green, Yellow, ect) or allow us to upload a sprite (similar to what pokemon or zelda uses in game) so we can personalize. Now the same idea goes for pvp, but for this one, add a radio button list to select a MEME to use with our attack...like if we get hit for 2k damage, the player can select an attack and the rage face meme. Just to add some laughs and fun in pvp and travel. Dont completely disregard this!

...Now back to my hole.

As for A) Hex colour codes hex colour codes hex colour codes! Cough, Tmice, cough. This idea intrigues me, really. Sprites would be kind of a drag, due to there needing to be four if we'll get detailed: Female and male hollow, and female and male shinigami. Size of a square also limits the sprite's size...

B) Assuming the PvP one is B. Well...where would the "rageface" appear to? Instead of the coloured dot? Problem with that would be resizing issues; quality could become bad when resized to I-forgot-how-many-pixels-the-squares-are. Sure, it would be for gags but mreh...

Yeah, shoulda explained the pvp one more...you could do the face instead of the dot, or replace the users avatar and have radio buttons (somewhere) to select between

Replacing the dot. Could also make a speech bubble appear next to the avatars...but I'm not too fond of the latter part of the idea to be honest.

Wait, wait wait wait.

I love this idea! I, however, want to add on to this. Wouldn't it be a bit pointless in Kyoto/SS/Hueco Mundo travel if all you're seeing is your dot? I mean honestly it might not be that hard to do, because honestly it doesn't seem that hard, but it's kind of pointless.

However for PvP that seems pretty interesting and would be fun. Maybe make it a miniature version of your Avatar (Because it's not that huge of a re-size, you'll still be able to tell out the pictures depending on the size of your screen.)

Why not for your range, it shows you the dot colors/miniature avatars of another player, and you could use that as your awesome addition! Instead of "Search Area" you could replace it with "Attack". I don't like having to switch between "Search Area" and "Travel" constantly, because it makes running away harder, or catching an opponent harder. If you have it in travel, it'll make chases longer and more interesting. Also how about traveling taking up stamina and energy. People may complain and what not, but atleast the people who don't want to fight can run away without being chased down constantly, because those who don't wanna waste energy won't chase them down.

Or maybe they will because the opponent is now tired xD

Not that huge of a re-size? I'll post a screenshot in a few after maintenance is over...
Note, the following is the Battle Grid. Travel page grid's cells are even smaller. Both avatars are 150x150 at the very least.



Otherwise the rest of that sounds interesting.

I'm gonna have to agree with chi on the resize thing. You're taking an image that's at max 175X175 and sizing it down to about a 20X20(estimating, don't take my word on it)

I don't know about the Attack button though. It could work I suppose. I REALLY don't like the idea of regular movement across HM/SS and Kyoto draining pools though. Most players go and sit in Kyoto to gain AP while they train and wait for their pools to regen so they can patrol before they train. Making it cost pools to move around the map seems like it'd completely destroy that tactic for the most part. Players could sit there, yes. But then they'd have to run away to not get killed. And what happens when you run out of pools and can't run anymore? Then you'd still get attacked AND have no pools to defend yourself.

Ah, ok. Still not that bad, you can still see it slightly. pretty decently.

Also I didn't mean for travel, I meant for battle. For travel, it would be best for a re-color only :P But for battle, I think that you could have it a miniature of your current avatar, or maybe even a seperate avatar you can put up for battle. (Maybe you can have an avatar for each move, that the player can create and upload. So if you want a certain move to have a certain effect on your avatar, like change it to lightning bolts if you're using a lightning kido and stuff of that nature.)

Each player uploading different mini-avatars for each attack or even just another avatar for battle would take a lot of space and cause slower load times I think. And when you only have 30 seconds to act each turn, that could mean the difference between getting an attack in and missing a turn.

Maybe have a moderation team called "Image Moderators", so that the normal moderators wouldn't have to moderate everything that they already moderate and then this new addition of images. (No, that's not a sarcastic bold/italics, that's an emphasis.)

By the way what do moderators look after and keep under control? I don't ever see them active in social other than Naomi and uh, Ghost? Yeah Ghost. Seems like a busy group e.e

Cole, honestly more people lose turns from waiting 'till the last second to attack and stuff of that nature, or being busy, than anything else.

This will teach them not to be so rude :3 *Coughnomorebattleholdingcough*

If moving takes away pools, this is what would happen...

People moving close and just spamming attacks...no more using strategy and pvp turns pointless...

Nah, just gave an example of what they would look like when in a battle grid.

... Off-topic, and that's common sense.

Waiting until the timer hits 0, I don't really consider it as problematic as the whole running thing. Consider it receiving a free kill thanks to afk timer.

If traveling took away pools slightly? It would make those who want to keep there pools not chase down those who don't care about pools and want to stay away from fights. That and it would making hunting harder, because if both opponents were low on pools due to running around, they'd have to have a longer fight in order to re-charge pools.

Also I already don't see that much strategy, mostly everybody just tries to get the first hit and stay out of the range of a certain attack. Not much else than that.

Now, back on exact topic. I'd say an increase to timer would be a good idea, or something like that. You'd only have to load two or three more new images every turn, which shouldn't cause too much lag.

For travel, color codes would be awesome, along with that travel thing I started earlier so that you could see other opponent and the colors they have.

Strategy = Barriers, Self effect moves like heal, melee and spirit boosts

All the people who have trained those for a long time would be pointless then if travel drained pools. Plus pool drains would be more accepted if pvps werent a requirement to rank.
