Reflect fix Empty Reflect fix

Post by mskod1 Fri Oct 25, 2013 11:02 am

So I have been hearing this ever since I first saw reflect that it was going to be fixed. Have yet to see this happen if anything it is just becoming more Hax.

-It now lasts in the majority of users for 3 turns instead of the original 2 (a significant power up)
-Damage exceeds that of what is dealt by the attack a majority of the time. (It should be based on how much damage is dealt, because it is powerful enough as it is allowing it to exceed it is ridiculous)
- Doesn't disappear if the person using it goes AFK (yet all boosts that are in use do)
- Also damage is received first from a reflect. What a pain hey look i finally got this reflect user to low life and he is still spamming reflect so i cant risk a significant hit to finish it. I dunno the thought process behind reflect getting this extra awesome effect.

Okay and then someone is no doubt to post dealing with reflects is easy (Most likely someone who has built a custom to do so) Yes AOEs are good but limited in effectiveness especially the ones available. Then cmpd resid on the armory move is next to useless as it deals damage back.

So sorry reflect users i believe it is too OP a move, and needs heavy editing

I had suggested yesterday getting rid of Reflect all together, changing it to a Dual Offense Nerf. Reflect was originally constructed to counter offense boosts/really strong opponents. So changing it to a dual offense nerf would really be the same thing without all the haxness.

I agree with everything Msk and Laxus posted.  This move definitely needs to be either heavily adjusted or just removed all together. There is no real balance to it. No other move is so strong that if you get hit by it you can't have some other method to deal with it.  The only answers I have ever received when asking how to deal with this move are: "Don't get hit by it" "Higher defense can reduce the damage you take" and "Don't attack back or use residual damage attacks with low damage."

Trying to not get hit by an attack can be difficult but not impossible.  Reducing the damage taken would be fine, but the attacks generally do so much damage that even if the person is normally defensive they still take a significant amount of damage on their attack turn effectively letting the opponent do another attack each round.  Don't attack back, or use aoe/low damage attacks are not even close to acceptable, this might as well say, "don't fight back because you're going to kill yourself".

You guys are such party poopers :P although I only use reflect on berserk users...I do like the Dual Nerf Offense as a substitute. How about turning reflect into a chance. like there is a 20% chance you will get reflected...I moved on from reflect...I teach people all the time...use a barrier, AOE, or nerf the range. If you aren't hit no reflect

Players from rank 6 and below don't have moves such is range nerf, so it is very tricky to go against a 100% reflect that has 5.3 range, and lasts 3 turns. So, while it's doable at rank 7, it is pretty much impossible for ranks below. Residual and 4.5 have insignificant damage.

As a reflect user (rarely used) I'd have to agree with it's OPness. I currently have a no damage 22% reflect that does the same or less reflect as the lesser store zan's 7% reflect which tells the formula is all jacked up (sorry Lsm). I've said many times it should be changed to a heal type formula I.E. at 25% it deals back 25% of the damage dealt that way it has a base and can't get so over powered. AoE's are great and all but even the store bought zan players could set up a reflect/KB combo to troll the AoE and like what Rangiku said some of the tactics to combat reflect just aren't available until rank 7. With that said I wouldn't say remove it altogether unless defense nerfs are improved to combat high attack power users I.E. Berserkers.
